I spent Friday night curled up on a sofa with this book and some chocolate cupcakes. This book was intriguing and compelling. The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena was thrilling, twisting, and spellbinding. Shari brings the question to mind; what is one really capable of when pushed to the limit? People are capable of almost anything. In this riveting thriller, told ina easy and simple narrative, Shari took me into the minds of the character's innermost fears.
Marco and Anne Conti seem like the perfect couple on the outside, they have a nice house and a beautiful baby. But all was not what it seems, their baby is gone and as Detective Rasbach tries to figure out what happened to Cora, he begins to feel that something definitely sounds amiss in the couple's story. As he watches the chinks in the relationship widen, he knows for sure that there is more to the initially happily married couple.
