To be Supreme means to be the highest in rank or authority; to be sovereign or paramount. In Colossians 1: 15-23, Paul lets us know that Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature. For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.” Colossians 1: 14-16
Christ existed before everything else began, and he holds all creation together. Christ is the head of the church, which is his body. Christ rose from the dead never to die again (Colossians 1:18, 1 Cor. 15:20). His resurrection marked His triumph and supremacy over death forever.
Through Christ, God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless before him without a single fault (Colossians 1: 19-22).
Paul encouraged us to continue believing this truth and stand in it firmly.
While reading this scripture, I realised that I had taken Jesus for granted, I had stopped seeing the supremacy of Jesus, despite the marvellous miracles he did while he was on earth. I had not taken the time to ponder on his greatness and the level of authority it took to heal all manner of diseases, raise the dead, and cast out demons, all the wonderful things Jesus did in the bible, and all what he is still doing in our lives everyday.
Christ is both supreme and sufficient -- we need nothing beyond him to complete our faith. We can trust in him, and turn to him whenever we are faced with difficulties, because he is the only way we can gain access to God (Colossians 1:18-19).
It is important to believe in the supremacy of Jesus, it not only strengthens your faith but also fills you with so much peace, and also teaches us humility. Imagine Jesus being so powerful, yet he humbled himself and came to earth in a human form, offering himself a sacrifice so that we can be saved.
Learning to trust him in every thing we do

Prayer: Heavenly father, thank you for the gift of life and the salvation of my soul. Please help me to always believe and stand firmly in this truth in Jesus Name. Amen.
